Now I have your attention, let me start by saying that restricting access to contraception is exactly what the new federal policy proposed by the Bush administration does not. By the definition of emergency contraception and IUDs as abortion, what the board wants you to my grandmother and challenges you to think they are doing is limiting access to abortion. Please explain to your grandmother who are not doen something. It is nothing more than a politicaltrick to the right, Christian conservative base to revive. That this new policy in fact is not to limit federal funding for hospitals that refuse to hire people with services that refuse to offer abortion. Sound confusing? In other words, this means that when a hospital receives any federal funds can not discriminate against providers who refuse to offer abortion services before (abortion is defined as shown). Butare already federal laws prohibiting discrimination in this place! The only additional requirement is that this new rule requires aan van KRACHT these hospitals (if they houden financiering Willen TE) to declare in writing their compliance with federal laws that are already in place. It 'a proposal that has been carefully designed to do nothing!
The impact has been in the fashion of a farce of Shakespeare. Rather than ignore this proposal nonregulation Democrats have seized onas an opportunity to lash back - call it "... a dangerous assault on women's health."
Nobody is in favor of providing contraceptives and family planning services to me. But please, try to ensure that the battles we fight are significant. A federal ban on partial-birth abortion, for example, could potentially lead to a severe limitation of medical options for women to manage the complications during the second quarter of itspregnancy. The proposal does not mess with the legality of abortion or birth control or with the existing laws in 14 states that women need access to emergency contraception. It may take one or two pharmacists reactionary losing their jobs and will certainly generate additional documents, but in the grand scheme of things, I think progressives can live.
