On your pregnancy week 21, your hormones have stabilized which means that you are now most likely more emotionally stable now. Your baby bump is much more obvious and visible during this stage and I'm pretty sure you are so excited to get the prettiest maternity clothes. Gone are the days when comfort and style can't be mixed together. There are a lot of pregnant mom-friendly clothes that are stylish, comfortable and yet very inexpensive.
Your uterus is about 1/2 inch above your belly button and by now you must have gained about 10 to 15 pounds. Don't worry too much if you are a little off. As long as you are eating a very healthy diet and you take plenty of water everyday, you don't really have to pay too much attention on the scale. You may notice that your ankles and feet are swollen by the end of the day. To help relieve swollen feet, rest them up for at least 30 minutes in the evening before you doze off.
You're not too big yet and the discomforts are gone, at least for the most part. Enjoy this time and try to relax because by the time you approach the third trimester, you will encounter a new crop of uneasiness. If you notice that you are having zits on your pregnancy week 21, this is due to the increased amount of oil secretion on your face. Wash your face well with a gentle cleanser. If you want to use a topical acne product, make sure you check with your health care provider first. This symptom will eventually subside after your delivery.
You may start feeling uncomfortable when it comes to having sex with your partner on your pregnancy week 21 because of morning sickness, fatigue and tender breasts. This is perfectly normal and as you approach your second trimester, your libido will increase.
